Having operated since 1987, the Haven is a temporary home for children

from birth to 9 years old, who have been removed from their families due to abuse or neglect. The Haven provides a safe, nurturing environment in which the children begin to heal from the trauma of abuse. Each home shelters 9 - 11 children. Currently there are three homes in Brevard county.

  The Haven cares for children in a short-term setting as well as a long term environment. Children stay at The Haven until a permanent alternate placing is available. Those alternate placements range from reunification with their parents to adoptive placements. The Average length of stay at The Haven is two years.
